The Renegades are on a roll!
Our local hockey team, the Renegades, are on a roll recently! The win streak is at 7 games and they are playing great right now. They have away games this weekend but their next home game is Wednesday night. Come on out and support a local team that is on a tear right now!
Rowdies play at SCOR tomorrow night
Indoor soccer fans come on out to SCOR tomorrow night to see our Richmond Rowdies host the Fredericksburg Generals at 7pm. Tickets are just $5 and kids under 14 are free! It’s a fun, exciting atmosphere and very inexpensive family entertainment for a Saturday night. Plus you get to support a sports team that wants to play in Richmond!
Braves leaving town
The news has broken that the Richmond Braves are going to be leaving Richmond in the next year or two and move to Gwinnett County, GA. That is a northern suburb of Atlanta if you, like me, had no idea. Our low attendance numbers and inability to work out a new stadium deal in any reasonable timeframe has given the team the desire to make a change. It also looks like it may be difficult for another team to move here, or maybe not so hard depending on which Times Dispatch article you read. Feel free to share your favorite R-Braves memories in the comments.
Instate Basketball Matchups
Sorry for the delay in posts. Had a busy holiday season but I want to get back on track now.
We had some big instate basketball games recently. JMU pulled out a big victory in dropping VCU with a buzzer beater by Juwann James. Also UofR hosted VT and was able to pull off the victory 52-49.
